If you write fantasy romance, you have noticed that most writing communities are not built for you.
General fiction communities do not understand why the romantic arc is load-bearing. Romance communities are not fluent in the worldbuilding demands of fantasy. And every community that promises “support” turns out to mean weekly Zoom calls at a time that does not work for your life.
The Romantasy Writers Coven was built for writers who need a different kind of community.
The Romantasy Writers Coven
A private async membership community for writers building dark fantasy romance. No live calls. No camera. No showing up on a Tuesday night.
What Makes This Romantasy Writers Community Different
It Is Built for Fantasy Romance Writers Specifically
The craft drops, the mythology content, the critique framework — everything is built around the specific demands of dark fantasy romance. Not “genre fiction.” Not “romance.” The genre that requires you to build a world while also building a love story while also building dread.
Async by Design. No Camera Required.
The Coven does not have weekly calls. It does not have Zoom sessions. It does not ask you to show up live at a time that only works for people without kids or day jobs.
It is built for writers who write in parking lots, at 11pm after the kids are asleep, in the fifteen minutes between things. You do not need to be available. You need access to craft resources when you are.
Monthly Craft Drops from a Published Author
Every second Tuesday, a pre-recorded Craft Drop goes out covering one element of fantasy romance craft in depth. Not a webinar. A focused, replayable resource you can watch when it works for you.
Written Hot-Seat Critique
Every fourth Tuesday, one member gets a full written critique of their work. No live reading. No performance anxiety. Just craft feedback from a published author who writes in the same genre.
Mythology Lore Drops
Mid-month, a deep dive into Celtic mythology, Irish folklore, or the historical detail that makes dark fantasy romance feel like a world that existed before the page. The lore drops are resource-first — built to be useful for your worldbuilding, not just interesting.
Private Discord Community
A private server where romantasy writers talk about the work, share what is and is not working, and have the specific conversations that do not make sense anywhere else.

About the Founder
Shea Hulse writes dark Celtic fantasy romance rooted in real Irish mythology. She independently published her Celtic Romance series, then landed a traditional publishing deal within weeks of her very first round of submissions. The Romantasy Writers Coven is built on the craft she developed across both paths — and the community she wished had existed when she was learning it.
